Hugs and Kisses Blankets for the Troops

I hear stories every day about babies born to soldiers who are deployed. Many of these babies won't get a chance to hug or kiss their daddies for as long as a year after their birth. Even older children miss their daddies during their deployments. Blankets for Deployed Daddies is a volunteer organization that hopes to bring these children a bit of their daddy until that wonderful day when he returns home.

The Hugs and Kisses blanket is a wonderful blanket that deployed daddies can use to let their newborns know that they are there for them. Scent is a powerful comforter for babies, and this blanket gives the deployed daddy a chance to share his unique scent with his new baby until he can be reunited!

The Blankets for Deployed Daddies program is donating baby blankets to soldiers deployed when their babies are born. These blankets are all hand-knit and sent with a sealable bag to preserve the scent until it arrives back home. You can learn more about these blankets on the About the Blankets.
