We are currently running very low on blankets. Yarn is available for volunteers. Please complete the form below and include your address if you'd like to receive yarn for knitting.

Welcome to the Blankets for Deployed Daddies volunteer page. We welcome knitters of all ages, skill levels, and locations. Unfortunately, we do not accept crocheted items. If you crochet and would like to help our troops, please support Operation Top Knot. They need wonderful items from loving volunteers!

This is a fully volunteer effort. All funds raised for the program go directly to material purchases and shipping. There is no paid staff. Please note that all communication is done via email. If you do not include your email address below, I will not be able to contact you.

Our blankets must be made from yarn that has at least 50% cotton content. You may select any yarn that meets that category and gives you the gauge needed. I prefer you not use Bernat Cotton Tots because it tends to shred with washing. Lion Brand Cotton Ease, Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, and TLC Cotton Plus are popular yarns used to make these blankets.

You may download the pattern and start knitting whenever you like! Please note that all blankets must be knit using this pattern. Blankets made to other patterns or blankets that do not meet the nominal 14"x22" size will be donated to the Denver Children's Hospital. Please make sure your blanket is knit to the proper design and proportions.
